Operation Christmas Child

Our troop will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry again this year. Last year, we had about 18 shoeboxes!! That was awesome for our first time, how about doubling, maybe even tripling that number this year!!

Now is a great time to start collecting educational items for your shoeboxes since there are many back-to-school deals. Spiral notebooks are on sale and fit easily in a shoebox. So, while you're doing your back-to-school shopping, you may want to consider picking up an extra box of crayons or notebooks for a shoebox. There's a child out there who would greatly appreciate it!!

Magdalena

Our Compassion International Sponsored Child

Magdalena (age: 11)

Magdalena lives with her mother in Tanzania. Her duties at home include carrying water, gathering firewood and teaching others. There are 5 children in the family. Her mother is sometimes employed as a laborer.

For fun, Magdalena enjoys playing with dolls, jumping rope and playing ball games. She attends church activities, Bible class and choir regularly and is in primary school where her performance is average.

Because of our sponsorship, Magdalena will have new opportunities to learn and grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Let us keep her and her family in our prayers.

2011 - 2012 Policy: "The troop will follow the Fort Zumwalt school district closing schedule. If Fort Zumwalt does not have classes during the day, the AHG event scheduled on that evening will be canceled."
