Sharing God's love during Christmas and the New Year

Thank you for making our first Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Collection a success!  During the Court of Awards Ceremony, we collected 18 shoeboxes!  Your efforts will let another child know how much they are loved.

Also, the 4th and 5th grade squad hosted a Christmas Party at Our Lady's Inn and shared the love of Jesus with the ladies and children there.  With a new year come new opportunities to serve others.  Look around you and I'm sure you'll find them!

    Update on Magdalena

                       Compassion International, Troop Sponsor-A-Child:

Great news!  We received a letter from Magdalena during the

holidays.  Her letter will be at the sign-in table and you're

welcome to take a moment to read it.  We will continue to

sponsor Magdelena for $32/month.  Please remember to

bring $1.25/month to help with our sponsorship.  She is a

dear girl and is very thankful for our help.

    Father/Daughter Ball

Get out your fancy dress and put on those dancing shoes for a fun night out with your dad!  The third grade squad is hosting a Father/Daughter ball at Calvary Church on Tuesday, January 27th from 6:15-8:00pm.  There will be dinner, dancing and photos; plus some other fun activities but we're keeping that a surprise.  This event needs an RSVP by January 20th since dinner will be served.  You can RSVP by contacting Kim Paulus at 636-922-1287 or Catherine Dreher at 636-244-1862. We can't wait to see you looking your most glamorous!

    Skiing, anyone?

We have been invited to participate in a fun day of skiing with our sister troop MO3130 (Dardenne) on Saturday, January 31st starting at 10am at Hidden Valley Ski Resort. This invitation is open to all girls in the 2nd grade and older and to only one parent/guardian per family. If you are interested, please bring your check made payable to "Calvary Church" along with the permission slip no later than the January 20th meeting.  A parent or guardian per family must attend, but only one.  All AHG families should have received a downloadable copy of the ski trip flyer and permission slip.  If you did not receive one, please contact an AHG Board Member.

Day of Pampering – helpers needed

Here is a great service opportunity for girls ages 10 and older.  Several organizations and churches are hosting a Day of Pampering for the women at Our Lady's Inn on Saturday, February 7th from 10am – 2pm.  While the women enjoy some pampering, their children will be cared for in the nursery at Calvary Church.  There will be adults watching the children, but it would wonderful for them to have some younger helpers who enjoy playing with children.  There will be a sign up sheet for this at the sign-in table at our next meeting.  You can sign up for as little as one hour or for the whole four hours.  Squads are encouraged to serve together.  You can also email Catherine Dreher at gr8cate@gmail.com if interested.
